About the Artist

Caroline Brown, who currently resides in Napa Valley, California, is a representational artist working mainly in oils.  She graduated from the liberal arts college Skidmore with a Bachelor of Science in Studio Art.  Having completed many courses in the sciences, her favorite being a year of anatomy and physiology, she continued her education at New York University earning a second Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

After graduation, Brown spent a year working as an artist for the mural company NS Studios working for notable artist Nancy Scheinman.  Working with a team of artists, Brown helped transform the halls and lobbies of Baltimore, Maryland charter schools into thought provoking, educational murals.

Today Brown works as a nurse in the operating room.  She has successfully balanced dual careers as both an artist and a nurse; selling original and commissioned paintings to clients.  Her current paintings in oil focus on the California landscape and her still life paintings explore the health and bounty of the Napa Valley.
