CAROLINE BROWN
About the Artist
Caroline Brown is an award-winning artist based in San Francisco, California. Working primarily in oils, she blends representational realism with impressionistic techniques, capturing the energy and atmosphere of her subjects. While her work spans a wide range of themes, her foundation is rooted in direct observation. Whether painting en plein air in bustling city streets or serene parks, or studying portraits and figures from life, she uses these experiences to enrich her studio practice and deepen her understanding of form, light, and color.
In addition to her studio work, Brown is an experienced live event painter, specializing in wedding and event painting. With a keen eye for composition and storytelling, she transforms special moments into timeless works of art, capturing the movement, emotion, and unique atmosphere of each occasion in real-time.
Brown has studied with renowned artists such as Camille Przewodek, Robert Liberace, Lori Putnam, Johanna Harmon, and Mitch Baird, refining her approach to color, composition, and narrative.
Before pursuing art full-time, she spent eight years as a surgical nurse in the Operating Room. This background instilled in her a strong work ethic and a keen understanding of human anatomy, both of which inform her portrait and figure work. Over the years, she has been commissioned to create lasting keepsakes for many of her colleagues in the medical field.
